About Therapy

My approach is simple.

Do what works!

The pain has settled so deeply into your bones that you feel afraid it’s who you are now. And you want help – real help!

Many therapists help you with those surface-level bumps and bruises. They want to help, and many do their best to soothe the papercuts of the week. Band-aids are nice, but if that’s all you needed, you wouldn’t be on this page.

We can do better.

Look – good therapy isn’t magic.

Good therapy has its basis on rock-solid evidence. You pay hard-earned money and take a leap of faith to open up to someone. The least you can expect is they’ll give you a specific and concrete plan based on your symptoms.

You want someone who will help you leverage the MASSIVE amount of research conducted on highly specific interventions so that you don’t waste another year shuttered in your bedroom or pissed off at everyone in your life (including yourself).

You want someone who has helped thousands of the most traumatized people in our country to learn for themselves that they can do this!

I’ve based my career on using only the most effective approaches.

I use treatments vetted over decades of rigorous study by countless research studies.

But don’t take my word for it. My clients track their symptoms week by week. We will measure your trauma and depression scores and determine your anxiety rating. You’ll see for yourself how things stack up.

Alternatively, check out the documentary, Crisis Hotline: Veterans Press One. You’ll see some of the work I was a part of and more about why I wanted to help people before things turned into a crisis. (And the fact that the documentary won an Academy Award was a great way to destigmatize mental illness.)

But you don’t have to wait until you’re in crisis. Act as soon as you can – today if possible – so that you can reclaim your life.

About Me

Strengthening lives is my goal.

Throughout my career, my primary concern has been helping people recover from some of their worst experiences.

My professional training includes a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling Psychology from SUNY Empire State College. In 2014, I received a Master’s Degree in Social Work specializing in clinical/medical social work from Roberts Wesleyan College.

One of my specialties involves using evidence-based methods for treating PTSD, and I have worked with clients in private practice and during my time with the Federal Government. I also have training in Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR, and Written Exposure Therapy.

Outside of therapy, I have varied interests.

As a native Chicagoan, I enjoy the city’s amazing parks and the various museums distributed around the city.

I am a dog lover and enjoy hiking during the winter and board games. I also am an avid reader.
